Codex Entry: The Imperial Might of the Valorans

While the Republic is one of the greatest galactic superpowers the Milky Way has seen, they're not the only one. On the opposite side of the galaxy, another interstellar nation reigns with an iron fist. They are the Valoran Empire. Today, let's take a closer look at them!

Throughout the centuries that the Valoran Empire has existed, 'tyrannical' is perhaps the best descriptor for it. Citizens are kept from leaving valoran space, and information is closely guarded. Those who have managed to escape note how different the wider galaxy is compared to how the valoran education system described it as.

Another key aspect in how the Valoran Empire differs from other nations is how they acquire new races. Whereas the Republic brings aliens in by negotiation and accords, the Imperials annex other species, including non-spacefaring races. These people are often used as slaves or frontline troops if need be.

The emperor who began this practice, Gallex II, earned the nickname of The Conqueror. His subjugation of the zeelas, quoras, and other non-spacefaring races set the precedent that should another species be discovered within their territory, they were to be brought into their empire and classified as valorans.

Delios, the Imperial capital and homeworld to the original valoran race now known as Pure Bloods, is the heart of the Empire. Twice the size of Earth, it hosts over twenty billion inhabitants, although half of them are servants. Some non-spacefaring races are shipped over to act as slaves, as are zeelas and quoras.

Although the number is unconfirmed due to the secretive nature of the valorans, it's said the Imperial Navy boasts over twenty fleets. In the event of war breaking out between both galactic superpowers, the Republic Intelligence Division is seeking to confirm these numbers.

The current ruler, Emperor Leverin, has shown a disturbing similarity to his ancestor Gallex II. Although Republic leaders wish to avoid war, they're willing to defend their territory and that of others from the Imperials if need be.
